Week 11 : Fantastic Weekend and Productivity
Hello Everyone
Welcome Back for week 11 this week was off to a great start. I feel like this week really pushed me out of my comfort zone and has exposed me to a new area of history that I once did not find very interesting. On Saturday myself and some of my VHP peers went out to the 80th Anniversary Resource Fair. We got there early before the event started and set up out booth alongside all the other vendor booths. Everyone was so lovely but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous and a bit overwhelmed. I am not very well versed in the networking department but slowly throughout the day I got more confident and was spreading the word about VHP's story day that was coming out and looking for more places that VHP could do outreach too. I would say the day was an all in all success by the end of the fair all our fliers were gone and we had also met some veterans who we had interviewed in the past. I feel very lucky to have sat at our booth a was very proud to be representing VHP at the fair.
Now on to the productivity! I finally finished the editing process of both the abstracts and transcript I had been working on. After the week of trouble shooting and trying to figure out the best process for the transcripts, I can confirm that printing out the documents first was a really big help and something I will be doing from now on when i'm editing. It made the process smoother for me and when I had to go back and revise my original edits I wasn't afraid of losing or forgetting the information that was there before. Now for next steps I will be adding all of the missing release form folders into another file location so we can get these resolved. As far as more work for VHP is going I will also be trying to get more transcription work and see where else I am needed. Overall this week I felt super productive and had great experiences.
Until Next Time!
