Week 13 Nearing The End

Hello Everyone 

    Welcome back for week 13, This week we didn't have our normally scheduled meeting as it was Veterans Day on Tuesday. This week I have not been as productive as I would have hoped as I have been preparing for finals. My main tasks were to go through my organized folders, continue separating all the ones that don't have release form and move those folders, check the transcripts to ensure those are up to date and  done correctly, and to think about what I was going to contribute to the Showcase happening next week on Friday. All of my folders have been reviewed and moved at this point and I feel like I don't have another assignment available for me to take care of. So, I have been pouring my time into thinking about my time with VHP and through the whole internship. This update is very brief but I wanted to use this week as an opportunity to reflect. 

    This week the VHP team reached out and tried to set up dates so that we can best get our thoughts organized and do a run through for our Showcase. It feels a bit daunting; how are we supposed to put so much of our thoughts into such a short presentation?. I feel that I have learned so many valuable lessons especially with understanding how the quality of files and documents has to look before we can move forward with archiving them. I have learned how to edit transcriptions and come this Saturday I will have learned to take oral history interviews. There is so much I feel that I still have left to do and yet at the same time I know that I have wrapped up my remaining projects and this weeks tasks will be my final ones for the semester. This upcoming week we are having a guest presentation about how to make and present PowerPoints. I think this should be a great opportunity for growth and to make our work stand out so much more.
