Week 9: On to New Things

 Hello everyone,

I am back for week  9 and time is really flying by fast. This Tuesday's meeting was great and I feel like we got so much done. There were many updates so just stay with me. We spoke about the  upcoming events for the month of October, I will be sitting in a booth with two of my peers to talk about VHP and what our mission is. I'm very interested to see what else will be going on during the conference. My progress on the remaining folders I had is great, I have finally completed the reorganization of all the folders I assigned to myself. The next steps is going through them again as I had brought up some initial concerns that I mentioned to my team lead and supervisors during the meeting. One of the biggest things that is being seen in the folders is work that needs editing. These folders I just completed  were some of the more difficult tasks I had. Now difficult may be a wrong choice of wording but it was indeed time consuming and attention to detail will be at the peak of importance for the next steps i've been taking. I have to combine and edit multiple transcriptions, and reprint and rescan release forms that were consolidated into one file.

The reorganization of the folders is the easy part, making it as close to perfect as possible is the hard part. And for the first time i came across a veteran who had nothing we could work with in his folder. In these situations a new subfolder was created where we could put incomplete interviews in. And now i get to deep dive into transcription work. My current project is the review and consolidation of a two part transcript. Transcripts like this happened because of technical difficulties, so there is two of anything related to this document, two AVlogs, and two biodata forms both of which need work as well.  I am up for the challenge and know that i have support if i need it, It is fun to see my growth through the process and feel it become more second nature for me, I see this as skill building and gaining familiarity in a place that I once knew very little about. I can't wait to see the entire teams efforts really come to life in all aspects by the send of the semester. Team VHP is pretty awesome!

Until Next Time!
